Hanns Anker was a painter, sculptor, illustrator and printmaker, Hanns Anker studied art techniques at the Berlin School for the Decorative and Applied Arts and at the Berlin Art Academy. He then concluded his education under J. P. Laurens at the Academie Julian, in Paris. He first gained recognition for his original etchings and engravings and for his theoretical writings and illustrations and worked in collaboration with Julius Klinger and Alphonse Mucha.
